Yeah I heard about bloat, having a hard time feeding, fish just dying. Having much more work than discus125g: Empty For Now

Best bet is to go to someone's house, check out their set up and try to mimic it and absorb as much knowledge about keeping them as possible. It's not that hard. Just gotta be prepared. Always have some metro or clout on hand in case you do everything right and the fish still bloat. That was my second mistake. My first mistake was in January a few years back, I was heading to church but needed to do my water change. Turned water on and immediately filled my buckets up. Water was freezing cold. Poured into tank, bucket after bucket and when I got back, over half my colony was dead. The rest were extremely stressed. Looked at the thermometer and water was 60 degrees. Fish got back to normal but had one or two that got bloated and without anything to treat, I lost fish after fish. Ended up losing about 20 fish. Not having metro was my second mistake.
