Does anyone have any microworms I could get a quick cheap culture from?

I just had my first batch of convict fry and would like to get some growing.

    Thanks

I think this would be your best deal if you are needing to feed right now... You can get this ready-to-feed culture for 12.50 an that isn't bad...unless you can find someone on here to donate one to you! Good luck!!

i would just hatch some brine shrimp. they really easy to get going. either way powdered flakes works great too. especially is you move the fry into a planted tank with no one else.

Yeah, I may be "over thinking" this whole deal.

It is just uncharted water for me, my first batch of egg layer fry.

I took some flake food and ground it with a mortar & pestle then screened it thru an old pair of my gal's nylon stockings.

The fry hatched Monday 10/8 in a flower pot and so far have not started swimming, just wiggling like crazy.

I am going to try mixing some of the flake powder in some water then squirting it into the flower pot with an eye dropper.

        Your thoughts?

If they are still wiggling and not free swimming, they should still be supported by what's left of the egg.  I would go with the freshly hatched BBS or you can buy the frozen BBS.  The frozen is not very cost effective.  After a couple of weeks of free swimming, if not sooner,  they should readily take powdered flake as well.  I just take flake and put it in a tightly closed container with a marble or two and shake the container until the flake is the size I need.

Sounds good to me! Are the fry in a tank with other fish besides the parents?

No, the fry are in a 10 gal with mom an dad.

              No other fish.

I have another 10 gal that I can move them to.
