    Re: Tropheus Livua

If it's the Dianchi veggie or color I think it should be fine....right now Raul is feeding them NewLifeSpectrum so I would probably try and feed that just to keep things a bit stable.

They do tend to be a bit more finicky then most cichlids in that they prefer clean water high in o2

Tropheus do better in groups of 12 or more but do not need to be in a dedicated tanks.  I would grow these guys out a little more and then move in a mixed tank unless you have other cichlids around the same size.

Water changes at least once a week, up to 50%.  As the become adults you have to watch what you feed them.  I use NLS Cichlid Formula 1mm pellets and Spirulina.  They should not have a high meat protein diet.

These guys are hardy, but they still need that little extra attention.

        Re: Tropheus Livua

I feed New Life Spectrum mixed with Dianchi color at the moment to all my cichlids. I also feed frozen once a week to keep variety in the diet. I have plenty of fry about the size of those tropheus but the only problem is that I am running out of room at the moment. I have 7 tanks in my garage full of fry at the moment but hopefully start clearing some out to a lfs this weekend. I woud really like to take them off you hands let me discuss it with my wife and I will get back to you.We need to see what are situation is on the fry we have at home.

I would not suggest feeding frozen food.

                          Re: Tropheus Livua

Raul is feeding them New Life Spectrum Cichlid formula 1mm pellet, this is the food you should feed them.

If you want to blend in Dainichi you can, but until they are settled in good, I would mainly feed NLS.

I never really like Dainichi that much because it discolors the water more than othe pellets.  That has been my experience with it.  Also, the pellet when it gets wet, it crumbles to pieces, unlike others that stay together, but all that is a different topic.

Tropheus with plenty of tankspace, and proper diet will grow about 1cm per month.

The fish should take 5-6 Months to reach the 2-3" (5-7.6 cm) size.
