Before I list what I'm selling, I want to eliminate some common questions.
I've had this tank for about 7 years. I have never used any copper treatments or anything that would damage, fish, corals or invertebrates. I am selling everything for two reasons. The main reason is that this use to be a great coral tank, but while on vacation (when all problems show up) in Orlando back in July, a small snail wedged itself on the float valve for the auto top off. As you can image too much freshwater got into the system and all the expensive corals and anenomies turned to blob. Luckily when it happened a relative had come by and unplugged the system before it was a total loss. I was coming home the next day and did a 100% water change and all the fish did fine. Even some of the zoos and mushrooms made it through. Now I sit and stare at 4 fish and rock. Not what I built for all those years. So instead of spending hundreds of dollars to replace everything I lost, I'm just going to let this be someone else's starting point. My wife doesn't want to see it go, but it is mine and I can't bare to watch this. It's like having a dog that got hit by a car and is in a wheelchair. I just feel sad when I look at my tank.
So in order to lessen my confusion and minimize anyone getting mad, I'm going to list things as I need to get them out of the tank. So the first thing I'm selling is the live rock, once that's gone the fish are next. Once they are gone I'll list all the equipment.
Live rock is mostly Tonga branch. I have approximately 40 pounds of Tonga and about 25 pounds of Caribbean live rock. I know this because that's what it weighed when I bought it. I do not have a scale at the moment so anything out those parameters will be an estimation. I'm selling all the live rock for $3 per pound. That's $195 for all of it. Some of it has a few zoos on it and some mushrooms. I'm not cutting those off, you buy the rock you get what is on it. And for whatever reason after the tank stabilized after July, a massive amount of worms showed up. The good kind of worms, not bristle worms. They live in a secreted shell and throw out sticky webs to catch detritus.
I live near Fry rd and Franz on the far west side of Houston, in fact we are really in Katy.
email me at snoookfish@gmail.com. It goes straight to my phone. If things work out I'll get you my phone number.
finally, my second reason for selling, I'm using this money to buy a tablesaw. So if you have a nice cabinet or construction grade tablesaw in good condition, I'll trade you the entire setup.
