        Not sure. I just got it today. I started to think it was a female because my male lab started dancing.....but there is ZERO interest, so I wonder if its just the coloring thats got him all hot n bothered. Lol

          Can anyone tell from pic if JD is male or female? I have been looking for a nice female for my male for some time now. He's so lonely he was romancing a male bankgok hybrid (Flowerhorn/JD). Good thing both of them were confused

              When I had my Jack Dempsey colony, the males always outgrew the females and the males had a small hump on their head. Also, their fins were different and the female would get darker.

                    first pic looked like a male, second set of 2 pics looks more like a female, or a very stressed male.

                    2.5g- ramshorn hatchery
                    6g eclipse- yellow shrimp, chili rasboras, yellow apple snails
                    29g- geo grow-out, angels, 12"fire eel, dwarf frog, apple snails
                    45g- jade sleeper gobies, native killifish, feeder endlers
                    75g-                     2 oscars, parrot, silver dollars, albino channel cat, syno euptera, bichir, baby jaguar, convicts, yabby
                    125g- fahaka puffer, rainbow shark
                    and about a dozen bettas....
