    Re: WTB Giraffe catfish

Okay, so here's a pic of Hoover, the larger of the two.  His markings have faded since he's grown, but what do you think?

It is hard to say with his skin tone being so light, which is probably due to the white sand some.  He appears to have similar markings as mine, but its tough to say.  Typically the river giraffe cats skin almost looks solid brown, where the lake is more spotty.

Hmmm, maybe it is the sand.  I can't remember when we did the switch from gravel.  If the other one comes out tonight long enough for me to get a body shot, I'll get a pic of him as well.  He's smaller and his markings are more pronounced.

mrairportjunke -  8O   Aaahh!!  No Giraffe Catfish filet!!

Well, actually, if you can catch him....then we could talk.    He about kicked our butts moving him from one tank to another!

It would look good in a 2000+gallon tank. Anything smaller it would look out of place.

NDSuperDuty: Yours is a lake. I'm guessing you got that one from Alex, or it came from someone who got it from Alex because he's the only one I've known to bring in the lake giraffes.

ImaGirlGeek: Yours is a river. Notice on your giraffe that the skin tone is more of an earthy, pale brown, while ND's has a more bright, tannish color. Also, on the river varient, the snout is a bit more cone shaped and prolonged compared to the lake giraffe.
