WTB: Oscars........please read!

Even before I had tanks, I was stopping at all the fish shops I ran into looking for small Oscars but none could be found. I'm wanting like an inch or inch and a half. Anyone out there raise them or know where I can order them that size? Need in about three weeks.

When you went to Mike did you look at his ?  Now remember that a 1-1.5" Oscar is about a 2-3 month old fish and a 3-4" is about 6-7 month old..  Please remember Oscar's grow quick.. between 1/2" to 1" a month, until they reach 9-12"

Yea, I smudged up the front of several tanks with my nose but his appeared to be 2-3". I know they grow quick.....that's the reason I'm looking to get the smallest ones I can to start.

When I had my pet shop in FL back in the early 70s, I had a 100 gallon tank with nothing but Oscars in it. When I set it up, I was able to get 1" Oscars (all colors). As they grew, I transfered some to other tanks or sold them. I just like the 'little' ones.

Thats cool :)  I am glad you know that they grow quick because its sad to hear people who dont know and suddenly they dont like the fish they got :)

Oooooooo, I lub dem Oscars!!!!! Had several which would take food right from my fingers and rub their sides against the tank when they were hungry.

The fish store by Almeda Mall usually has tiny oscars (all varieties). I don't remember the name though...

Tropical fish depot closed down unless you are referring to the Petco that is across the street from the now closed TFD.

There's All about fish right past almeda but they are mainly SW...might call and ask, their info is posted in the LFS thread in the announcement section

Then there's Megan's tropical emporium but that's on fuqua.

Not Tropical Fish Depot at least I don't think ... there is another one closer to the mall... one was on Kleckley and one was on Almeda Genoa. I know the one on Kleckley closed.... but did the one on Almeda Genoa clsoe as well?

The name of the other store by the Almeda Mall is Fish Ranch II. The owner's name is Andy...really cool guy. Check it out.

Can someone tell me where this Mall is? I live north by Lake Conroe so I am not familiar with the Houston area.
