I'm looking for something that would clean my cichlid tanks gravel. I heard someone say Cory's do a good job.

Re: WTB Cory's.
Fire_chair asked a great question. Cories would be a good choice for dwarf South American cichlids, Angelfish, and a few others. However, I would not put them in with most African cichlids.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Clown loaches or Synodontis make good scavengers in african cichlid tanks.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.

Re: WTB Cory's.
Cories are extremely peaceful fish. Most cichlids are not.
Many cories have a poisonous self-defense system when attacked by other fish or even when very stressed. All Corys have very sharp fin spines and the poisonous ones can and will give off a low level toxic chemical into the water when frightened or highly stressed.
I would go with something not as timid and peaceful as a cory. I have one synodontis in each of my cichlid tanks, 1 is an ocelliffer and the other an eupterus. The cichlids don't seem to bother the pleco's either, although I do not have any of my longfin ones in there. Just the standard bristlenose ones.
I had considered putting my pantanalensis cories in my Victorian tank, since they're pretty large at nearly 3", but I like them a lot (not to mention they're hard to find) and I like my Victorians too, so I decided not to take the chance and have to kick myself later.
that's just my $.02The ultimate oxymoron - Narcolepsy and ADHD.
Who says you can`t have it all??!!
