Wood?

Does anybody have a few good pieces of drift wood i can use in my 55 gal that will look really nice??? let me know please

Fish Ranch got a whole shipping container worth of wood in a couple of months ago.

mopani wood is awesome, you can find them at petco (i think also at petsmart), of course old black wood is the best (but will cost an arm and a leg)

ADG just got in a shipment of ADA blackwood...pricey but it's the finest you will find.

Just to confirm, you can buy their wood at City Pets - right?  Where the heck is City Pets?  It's one of my stops when I come down there this weekend.

Around Beechnut and Beltway 8. I think the exact address is in the LFS thread. I was just there and none of the blackwood seemed all that interesting and was crazy expensive, even for ADA blackwood.

Yes you can get some at CityPets but their shipment has not come in yet I don't think.

CityPets price is actually the same or cheaper then ADG  :wink: but the thing with that is you get to see them before you buy which usually gets the nice pieces sold faster.

How do I get any at ADG?  Part of the reason I'm coming down is to get some wood also.  As well as hitting the fish store off N. Shepherd.

True, I guess you have to be there when the shipment gets in to cherry pick. I wouldn't mind paying the prices they asked for size-wise, it's the character I'm looking for. Ek, let me know if you find out when a new shipment comes in, I will be one of those cherry pickers!!!

But like ek said, it's a blind order, you can only request general size. At least at City Pets, you can actually see what you're getting.

There were small pieces that were under $20 which would make it comparable, but then there were about 16" pieces that were $40+ so that seemed a little pricier to me. You never know, there were about 30-40 pcs when I was there, you might find what you're looking for.

CityPets is actually the same price if not cheaper.

The only place you will find ADA products that are priced higher then that of ADG is going to be FishGallery which is on Kirby now not Sheperd anymore. I got my chance to cherry pick but I passed it up since I will going with a different approach for my new scape.

That's actually cheaper then any other place you are gonna find blackwood.....I got really foul looking, hard to work with tiny pieces for $20 ea. and I didn't get to pick.
