It really depends on what he/they are selling with the tank. I would pay up to 3K or morefor a really nice tank with all the extra's.
500 gallons is huge, I would definately go see it in person before getting to worked up.

i bid tanks 200g and over at $2/gal minus imperfections + 50% +/- of retail on name brand, decent, working equipment less lighting... unless receipts show they are fairly new... big deductions for anything with the word odyssea or jebo on it...LOL shouldn't be much of that on a custom tank... so depending on what's overhead or in the stand... probably about $2500 or so... wvgdiscus.. hit it right on the money... like to be the guy who set that up tho... he banked out well

I think this is the tank that EK was telling me about in the puffer thread. too narrow and too long for me. only 30in thick.

well, they come along ever so often.. typically tho people remember what they paid and try to get more.. as we would all like to do.. i picked up a 350 for $500 a while back.. bare.. you just have to be patient, that "good deal" will come along. i'll keep you in mind if i come across what you are looking for.. i see you are from the woodlands too, do you do saltwater tanks?Comment

His tank is worth only 3k at the most including equipment.
I help a member score a nice set up for that amount and it include everything...now only if he will let me get that bottle from him i would be happy lol

Everything is a hugh mark up.....
Plus the tank is used and will only serve a few people. So, unless he want to hold on to the set-up...he need to drop the price.
Plus since this a business he can write it off on taxes.Comment
