Question.....What would it's impact be on a fresh water tank ?

Would it be overkill or have hardly zero impact in fresh water?

it's a good addition to any tank.. it's a highly efficient biological filter... like thousands of little bio balls...

It is basically = tank water routed thru a tube of sand ....is it not?

and you said it could be implemented in one's exsisting w/d return line?
