I had the same experience as you, EK...I've dubbed it the beruda grass of the aquatic world.  But it is nice for babies and shrimp. I finally took mine out  of my tanks (except for some I found hiding in my planted tank the other day when I pruned) but I still have it growing in a bucket on my deck. Figure someday I may want to set up an all-shrimp tank.

I used it for breeding guppies and shrimp....just threw a golf ball worth in there and it became the tank!

i like how you said the tank had decent lighting, wasnt that the ten gallon with like 90 watts of light on it. (and i do believe i gave fair warning that it will take over if you arent careful ) It planted really nice in the 60 planted at my grandfather's house, long roots, but that was in he potting soil. so maybe it likes soil over sand, it does tend to float more in sandy tanks.

One was the 10g with 130w
Other was the 5.5g with ~60w

Ok i have an amendment for this thread, I also have a great many large Italian Val plants, averaging 14-20 inches in height.
I probably have close to two dozen of these plants. they also do well in low light or high, and work well in Sand/Soil? or gravel. prefer smaller grain gavel though, they love soil or sand. Was thinkin like around 3 or 4 plants for a Dollar (of the Vals) anyone interested let me know, Im open to trades of plants or maybe used equipment or lots of things. Just Pm me or add to the thread either way.

And EK what temp were those tanks at with like 3 suns burnin above them.

When I monitor them it only gets about 82 at most....most of the time the a/c is on pretty cold and the majority of the tanks are open top.

Ok everyone i will be heading to work in a few minutes and i will bring several bags, of both Najas grass, and of Italian Vals, so whoever want to come get them, they will be 1 dollar a bag, there will be plenty of Najas in each bag and 3 large to extra large italian vals per bag, some of these are at least 24 inches tall. either way i will have them at the petsmart at 610 and westpark, by boudreaux and home depot. you cant really reach me on my cell but the store number is 713-661-5585, and you can ask for David, or just show up, i will be out on lunch between 4-5 pm though. alright thats it i cant think of anything else to add

Ok a few people came by my work today and got some plants. i can bring more tommorow, i still have plenty of najas and lots of vals still. but if no one posts tonight or early morning i will be at work so i wont take anything. but i do still have lots of najas and italian vals.  So if anyone wants some let me know. And to all those who have already requested, i am holding your stuff dont worry.

I would take some of your plants.  Maybe you could fill me a bag or give me $2 of whatever.  Maybe bring to the next meeting?  Or to the HAS auction for me?  I'm slightly stuck at home right now, but I can guarantee I will be going to the HAs auction :-)

i have like a gallon left of the najas, and lots of vals, some of the vals are going to the new membr shorty, some to loretta, juicy im not sure whether she wants vals or najas or both, and i know loretta wants najas too. and i will still have plenty. mostly what i have now is a nice dark green color, and very thick stalks. but i can definately russel up 2 dollar worth for you DBF, though i wont be able to make HAS auction cus its on a Sunday and i work. but definately next meeting of GHAC.

Hi, do you still have any of the najas grass to sell. I would love to have some. Am just getting back into guppies and would use it for several breeder tanks.
