  • WTB - Wet / Dry Over Flow Box With 2 -1" drains or larg

Wantt to buy an overflow box that has 2x1" -1.5" drains. I need to replace the overflow I   have now which is a single.

By the way does anyone know what the maximum flow thru 1" pipe is?

I am on the North East side near Humble. Anybody close would be great.

I'm in the market for a nice single, and I may have a double at home, let me check and get back to you. Is your single flow fairly new/clean?

PS....I think it is somewhere around 450 to 500 gph...not sure...

Yes its very clean. Just put it in last week. I dont like it because it...I need more flow...I just have to have more flow. I will not settle until I have 1200 gph on my 110. Until then I will on a journey for the the most flow.

See this is what happens when you are obsessive compulsive behavior? I switch all my big tanks in house from HOT and canister filters to wet/dry and now I just wnat more and  more and more. Now i want to convert all my tanks..........ahhhhhhhhhh there is no end!!!!

That's ok because right now I am mad at cichlidfan  ....He got me hooked on wet/dry's. It's all his fault! Now I want one for my 160. The tank I put the wet/dry on has this pretty sparkly water and now the tank next to it which I always thought had really clear water don't look so clear.  Now if I lived closer to Houston I would hunt you down cichlidfan.....:axe: Maybe on my next trip....

Well I have been so silly in that I took one of my small marineland HOT filters and have it cycling water with inside one of the chambers in my wet dry along with a U/V filter.......oh ya..pretty crazy

The worst part is, if I could possibly figure out how to justify and benifit from a skimmer..then I would be off to the store in a sec. Not going to happen with freshwater.

I'm fairly sure I have that dual tube overflow, I'll get a picture of it up here for you later, after work.

Lissa, I'm sure your fish love me, even if you have some issues.... :)

I've actually switched two of my tanks over from W/D's to Tidepool filters, similar funtion, just a bit on the lighter side as far as energy comsuption. I run my return lines with PH's instead of larger pond pumps.

Plus, I really like the fact, that I can customize my filtration via the four tray system.

So do you like the tidepool better? I almost bought one a while back.
And txfatcat no need to run to the store to get a protein skimmer for fw. If you really want to blow
some money I'll be by later today to pick it up.   I have a list of things I need........

Well, I believe the TP has more options available to you as far as targeting a specific form of filtration. You have the ability to use multiple chemical additives or you can chose to just use fiber filters. I am not sure that they are technically any better than wet dry's, I'm just impressed with the choices you have with them.

IMO the tidepools are a rip off....

You can easily obtain the same if not better with a lot less $$$$.

All that is to it is a rubbermaid tub and a plastic drawer tower. If you want CF I can make you a few to trade for all your wet/dry setups!

TXFATCAT, do you still a dual tube overflow box? If so, let me know and I'll get that picture of mine up here for you, or you can just pm me and tell me, it's up to you.

I have a CPR overflow box that is rated for 1200gph.
I was wanting to use this for a glass tank setup but I decided to go with a drilled acrylic.
Never used it. Though it has only one hole for the overflow but it is 2" single tube.
Also included is an aqualifter, it keeps the Overflow primed and provide surface agitation too!

                            See Pics Below:

thats kewl. I found what I needed and made it super quiet so I dont get the flushing noise. If you weren't so far away I would say yes for sure. That is a great price. any chance you come into Houston now and then?
