His fish have hole in the head disease and there's poor lighting so you can't really tell until you get them home. The tetracycline food and hex guard should have been a red flag.

I'd like to add to my previous statement and say that ultimately it was my fault for buying the fish in the first place because I am experienced enough to know what I'm looking at. He's somewhat of a newbie to the hobby and still has a few things to learn. That being said, he's getting mentored by a couple of guys who want to help him get started on the right foot and hopefully learn from the mistakes. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and if any advice is needed, I'm an open book.
