I just discovered another brood last night, the dom pair from the cedar point gang still lives and still kicks out a brood of young every 4 to 5 weeks.

cool. you got me to doin some lookin though. i think i was mislead with the name of the fish im actually lookin for. i have been searchin away for it and cant find it. when i saw it and made the thread that is what it was labeled but, thats not it on the pics. i wanta small cichlid that is orangish color and stays small and has a hump on his head for the dominant male. anyone konw what im talkin about. i cant find it again.
yeah. last night i though i miss labeld what i wanted or the picture i saw was miss labeled. thats what i want. ek cleared up the confusion last night. i saw a pic of one that had a hump on his head. EK said that soemtimes that happens and sometimes it dont. so that is what i want.
They are daffodils but brichardi's are not too different....the coloration/head hump all depends on tank settings, diet, dominance, water quality.....IMO mainly generation.
oh, and they are not small....especially if they have a hump on their head, at least I have never seen small ones with a dome. With that being said they will terrorize and shred your poor shellies.
yeah. they not goin in there. i though they stayed small i was gonna put them in my 75 with my corys and kuhlis. i have taken my apistos outta my 75 cause the red i got from raul has paired off iwth one of my femles and shes actually lookin a little plump sooooo i got them out and in a 14 gallon all by themselves. slowly lowerin the ph to there ideal level.
but if the pulcher are really aggressive them i dont want them with my kuhlis and corys.
They are only aggressive when they are spawning. I have Brichardi's Leleupi's and Julie's together today, and they are most aggressive towards my single little syno who comes out at eating time and goes through their territory to pick up left overs..
When they spawn allow them to establish a colony but as their young get to be mid age you will see some aggression towards them (ie start looking for your own rock to spawn on you youngens)....
Again I dont know how aggressive they are going to be to the cory's and kuhli's but I am thinking you want to keep them in a planted enviroment.. and well for me the planted tank does not bode well for a serious rock dweller
