  • looking for mbuna

Through talking to some folks, I have learned that I should have a lot more mbuna in my tank.

Right now I have 7 yellow labs, 5-6 demasoni, 2 red zebras, 3 mbamba bays (the dominant male ended up killing the non-dominant male I think) and 1 kennyi that likes to chase the rest of them.    This is in a 4' long tank.  I have some holey rock (but really need more)

What would folks recommend I get?

Does anyone have smallish 1-2" fry that is compatable with these.

At least 5-6 more Demasoni to help keep the aggression in check.

Come by my place and pick up three or four more Kenyi for that lonely guy.  :)

          it is a 55 gallon.

So far the demasoni are behaving well.  The Kennyi is obnoxious.  Would more kennyi be better or just equal more bullies in the tank?  If more will calm it down, that sounds wonderful.  If more will be worse, I might just give away the kennyi.  I believe mine is female.

I would ditch the Kenyi and red zebras and then add more Demasoni.

I have a small school of several mbuna in a 55 gal tank with holey rock. I am looking to get rid of all the rock and fish(not the tank).  You are more than welcome to look them over and I am sure we can agree on a deal.

                  Are red zebras a problem?

I thought they were fairly calm fish...

From my experience, Red zebras pose no threat, they should be fine in a 55. Best of luck!

Just fill that tank full of more of the above mentioned.  I had about 25 in a tank that size in my early days.  The ones that grow the quickest will run the show and everything else will just fall into the heirarchy.  Go with decent groups of each and that should curb most of your agression issues.
