          Very commonly mislabled as well and the others are more worthless.

              SAE = Siamese Algae Eater

              ek, thats what i hear, but i don't know what to get for my new 65gallon, i just checked and noticed now the nitrite is almost gone, so it is essentially cycled and algae is growing fast despite water changes and flourish excel dosing and not much feeding of the existing 4 white clouds, so i need a crew for mechanical removal, i want to get ottos, but they don't do well when tanks are not well established (from my previous experience), plus, they seem to never put any dent on algae, it seems like they eat one strand in one month, now i can definitely put my super bn pleco who cleans everything, but he also skins any amazon which i don't want to happen because a big part of my "vision" for this tank is amazon swords

              help, what should i do?

                Amano shrimp
                Nerite snails
                Ocats......just have to make sure they are well acclimated at the LFS and doing well, don't buy soon after they receive them.

                I only trust those and use those....other then that I would either plant a lot heavier, increase water changes, dose more excel and worst case shut the lights off or cut back drastically.

                  i wanted amanos, but will my angles that i plan on putting in the tank eat amanos?

                  i need to find out where i can get nerites?

                    Re: SAE's

                    If your angels are not giants then they will probably not get the amanos.....buy a few first to test it.
                    As for the Nerites......AquariumWorld had some last I was there with the only label on the tank being trapdoors and supposedly Dan@HAW has some.

                    Might want to do the later that I posted.....try fixing the problem before band-aiding it.

                      Yeah get amano shrimps instead of the SAE.  They dont really clean the algea; I've only seen one that did.  They are really hard to catch if you plan on moving it to another tank or giving it to somebody.

                            If you are still interested in going with SAE's, I was at Fish Gallery yesterday and they had a few, and today I was at Aquarium World and they had a tank full.  Both places were about $6.99 a fish, I think the ones at Aquarium world were a bit bigger.  These were, of course, C. siamensis, and not the Chinese Algae Eaters or Gold Algae Eaters.

                            Good luck with your algae problems!
