    Re: Looking for Mobas Fry

yeah, I noticed that a lot of them did have mooning. But that was noticeable right away. Why did you buy them? Did you not notice it at first or did you want to take a chance and see if it will fill in? If I owned fronts, I wouldn't want them to have mooning either. Again, it was noticeable very, very early because Dan and I talked about it. Well, I hope it works out for you.

when i got them i couldnt tell as they were pretty small. my odds were pretty good with them though, out of ten i only got three that have mooning and only one really bad one.

        Question....

Is the reference to mooning mean that the black vertical stripe splits to show white in between?

Thats what it sounds like but want to make sure I understand.

At first I didn't know what they meant by it either but yeah the little white split in the middle of the black stripe at the top is what is referred to as mooning.

                Re: Looking for Mobas Fry

I do have 10 fry left if anyone is interested.  I got these from Dan (aka Deerhunter) since he was moving.  Some do have some mooning split stripes ect. but I think they will still be great looking fish if anyone is interested.  You can email me or PM me if you would like.

                I also have 2 male mpimbwe @ 7-9 inches, 2 male kapampa @ 7-10 inches for sale.

                Thanks for the help Dad!

Here is a pic of the fry for sale.

Here is a pic of the parent colony.

There is nothing wrong with Alex's (UltimateFish" fish.  I have a colony of kapampa and Moba from him and they are beautiful. IMO

                    Re: Looking for Mobas Fry

I have been keeping fronts since 1988.  I met Alex (aka Alli) around that time....way before his Ultimate Fish days.  I had a beautiful jardini aro......around 20" long, barbels intact, with beautiful coloring that I was selling for $250.  I had numerous buyers in line because back then a fish this size was hard to get.  $250 was alot of money back then.....heck, even now.  LOL

I had 1 person that was really interested and wanted me to hold the aro for him.  I asked him to leave $100 as a deposit.....non-refundable.  He agreed and left me with a crisp $100 bill.  When he came back to pick up the fish, he brought Alli with him and asked me if Alli could see the fish.  There was no problem on my end, but what happened next really ticked me off.  Alli walks into my home, sees the fish and walks out telling the young man he can get him a better fish at a cheaper price.

Next, the young man humbly asks me to return his $100.  I gave him his $100, asked him to never return/call me and told him to tell his buddy (Alli) waiting in the car the same.

That's not a good way to do business.  That was my personal experience with Alex and it was not a good one.  I choose not to associate with folks like this.

Sound like bad business to me.  Hopefully he has grown up a bit and doesn't do things like that anymore.
