Convicts and Firemouths....FREE!!!

I have a small breeding pair of regular Convicts that are both about 2-2.5".  They have been with me for about 2 weeks and have already bred once.  So if you are new to the hobby and want something REALLY easy to get to breed these are the way to go....LOL!!!  

I also have a small pair of Firemouths that are a little larger than the Convicts that need to go too.  Looks to be a pair of little males by the dorsal fin shape, I could be wrong though.  They have nice coloration for their size.

I'm not asking anything for these guys, but I would just like to see them go to someone who will take care of them.

They were literally bought to put some movement in an empty tank until I figured out what was going to go in it.  I have a 40 breeder that is empty and needs a filter and substrate right now.  If it was running, I would probably just keep them.  They are pretty decent looking, the little male has some really nice colors when he is showing off.

Yeah, he's got like irridescent light blues and pinks on him past his pectoral fins all down his belly.  That was the other reason that I bought him.

I'm pretty sure that any convict with pink or red markings on its sides are females.  Whether black or Pink Convicts, the red markings indicate it is a female.

Ok, well I guess the female was the more agressive of the two then because she/he doesn't put up with anything from anyone.  I was under the assumption that it was the opposite for some reason.

Nope you are correct and when the get ready to breed or are holding they color up even more. They are very well defined on the belly area. The pink or colored area on the belly is how you can distinguish (spelling) between a male and female convict. The males will generally have no color except for the gray and black bars
