Your post got me thinking about the FX5 sitting on the kitchen floor, I just went and cleaned the media and hooked it up to my Oscar tank..... :)

Andy @ Fishland is doing a $199 special on the FX5....not sure if that's cheap or not since I'm not a big fluval fan.

cool i have found them for that on ebay but in person that sounds like a really good deal...... i am more an eheim fan my self but i need some serious flow if i want to add a tropheus colony :)

You wouldn't be happy with the FX5 then mickey, although it boast of moving 900 gallons an hour, the volume is not fast moving, its moving alot of water at a slower rate. The intake and return lines are about 7/8ths to 1 inch. hoses.

I like the FX5, it is strong, and draws debris from the bottom of the tank and it does move alot of water, but it is not as quiet as the Eheim, overall, on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the top ....I would give it a 7.

i am looking for a filter to add to my 210,,, i have 2 eheim 2250s,1aqualear 110, 1 bio wheel 400, and was going to add one more filter to tank.. so i think that i would work good for turning water....

heeh :)   Well hopefully you will be thinking about getting a house soon.. you are running out of space where you are at :P

I mean you need a home with at least two or three living rooms of some sort soon :)  hehe :)
