  • WTB: interesting shrimp

I haven't had very good luck finding interesting shrimp in the fish stores lately, and would rather not have to pay shipping,

So I was curious who on the board might have some shrimp they are breeding:

Interests: red cherry shrimp not from mahoro - who has lovely red cherries, I just want to diversify the breeding stock.
    Yellow shrimp

    CRS

    sulawesi shrimps -

other types that might interest me -

    orange, blue, white...

I hope you have a lot of experience with shrimp keeping  because CRS and sulawesi are NOT shrimp you want to start out with.  They are quite advanced.

That's right - haven't been in there in a bit, forgot about those...

As for experience, I wouldn't say that I am a master at taking care of shrimp, but I keep both red and yellow shrimp now.  I also have glass shrimp.  They seem to do alright.

          How much different are CRS?

Are you going to be at the GHAC auction? I may be able to bring you some of my sponge filters.
Fish are people too, they just have gills.

RCS and Yellow are very similar in needs but CRS seem to be a bit more finicky.....I would say...RCS/Yellow are a 2 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being hard and CRS are about a 4-5.

Kris, I've got yellow shrimp for sale. I agree with EK about ease of care. They can breed with cherries, so best not to keep the two species together.

Fishboyt - they look fine to me. Wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but they will do the job :)

Where do you get the filter material from?  I want some for inside one of my other filters (not as a sponge filter)

Mark - I have a separate tank for my reds and my yellows.  I have 30 or so reds already, but only 12 yellows.  I was wanting to add to the breeding stock for both of them.

Let me know how much on the yellows, I am definitely interested :)
