        Jetchanic,

I thought they are the same, maybe I'm wrong. When I look it up it's seem like the same fish on the internet. The colony that I had was black head and tail and the middle is orange. Maybe someone who knows can clear this up?

              Re: WTB Moorii Bemba Orange!

Bemba was renamed to Pemba since that is how the spelling has been changed to since "english" speaking people were back in the time not understanding completely what the "natives" where calling the area.   Its the same fish.  The fish comes from the north west side of the lake, near the island of Pemba.

Originally the fish was a Tropheus moorii "Bemba", but since then a reclassification of the fish has occurred per reading the material offered me.  This fish fell into the classification Tropheus sp. black "Bemba" which since then was renamed because of the spelling of the location to "Pemba" hence the new name Tropheus sp. black "Pemba".. The fish is the same.

The information comes from both online informed researched and from the book Tanganyika Cichlids in the natural Habitat by Ad Konings p59.

I had a colony that I sold to williesands33 a while bakc maybe he still has some. I gave some fry to several people in the Houston area, so I know that they are out there...

                Good Luck!

Although I am by no means a tropheus expert, I'll go ahead and confirm what Zulaab said, "Pemba = Bemba"

went to both extreme and haw today. extreme was bigger ones at 20 something i think and the ones at haw was being sold as colony only.
