  • WTB screamer flood detector

    hi there,

I used to have a screamer but it fell in my sump during a water change. So I went to order another one at bigals but they don't carry it anymore. Someone mentioned I could get one at home depot by the water heaters so I checked and asked. They looked at me like I was crazy.  Anybody know where to get one or some sort of flood detector?

    SENSAPHONE
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Was at Lowes last week and in the R/O water filter area I found
          The WATCHDOG
          Water Alarm
Mktd by Glentronics Inc. Lincolnshire IL, made in china
alarms 110dB for up to 3 days, runs on a 9v battery, detects 1/32" or more water,
I think it was around $13 - put one on the floor next to my water change barrel and it works fine when I get distracted and it overflows.

Tonight I left the R/O system running into a 30g tank and I can now state the 110dB may not be loud enough if you are a little hard of hearing.
I had to be within 40' of the alarm before I recognized what the ringing in my ears was.
