Re: A deal on a VERY BIG tank ???

I would just layer 2x4's in 4s. easier to work with IMO.

As for filtration.... almost but not in total agreement.
I would pick up the ADG custom sump that delock was selling.... thing is a beast! and cheap too.
That coupled with one of the panworld pumps since the tank has a built in overflow so it will be able to handle the flow.
The drilled holes would be used for 2260/2262.
For circulation... Tunze is the only thing I will pay money for... they run on the lowest amount of wattage but push the most amount of flow and they have the option of being wired to a battery back up in the event of a power outage and consume almost nothing.

Re: A deal on a VERY BIG tank ???

I REALLY wasn't that interested in the beginning (it was too big), but when I saw the tank in person, it was a different story. Honestly, when I called him, my intent was to get more information for the HFB members. We talked about how he came to be in posession of it and then I realized he did not have a clue how much the tank was worth. I told him it was most likely a 2000.00 tank, maybe more RETAIL.

I wanted it for my Frontosa's....I knew they would love it.....it's all about the fish my friend.

The tank will be stored here at the warehouse until I can verify it can be moved easily into the house, and then there's a little matter of clearing room for it once it has been dertermined it will fit through one of the doors.

I plan on using a whisper 60 on the back for now..... :P

Looks like I'll have to sell some tanks to pay for the filtration...OH...and I need to figure out the details on the stand too..

When you have a tank that big, do you really need another tank?  You could mix almost anything in a tank like that.

One of the reasons I don't just hop on and buy any ole tank.

Tanks are cheap, setting them up is not. Especially with my standards in filtration and lighting.

At least you didn't go for the 700+ gallon on craigslist.

Wood stand would need to be made out of 2x6's and 4x4's.

Well congrats on the tank.  Now you will have plenty of room for that huge colony of fronts you have been building plus anything else you want to go in there.  When you get ready to move it into place...just put a call out as usual and we will all come running to help you.....at least I will for sure.

DANG CF!  You beat us to it!  We called on it too.  You got a hell of a deal!  For that price we would have been stopping and buying all new supplies on the way home with the money we saved!!

What a steal. Poor guy never saw it coming either for that price and delivered. He called me on accident when he was delivering it and didn't have the address right. I almost told him to bring it to ma and I'd give him $600 for it but that would have just been a mean thing to do

You'll have to let us know when you get ready to sell. The $600 delivered still stands and you would make a nice little profit.
