  • ADA/ADG TANK...

So...is this a good tank to buy? I was thinking about getting one for a CAKadise.
Maybe a cube garden or something??
Does anyone have any experience with these cube gardens?

They are nice tanks but a little pricey for the size that they are.  Sapphire Aquatics here in Houston can build you one of the same quality for a good amount cheaper.  I have a sump that they built for me and they do some awesome work.  They can build it either out of acrylic or out of glass.

really nice looking tanks from ada. a bit pricey and doesnt last as long though. consider custom ordering one? cheaper and last just as long for a lot less.

Glasscages.com online does rimless tanks or Sapphire Aquatics here in town.  Kyle, the owner of Sapphire can build you just about anything that you can imagine.  EK has a tank that he built and I have one of his sumps.  We can both attest for his skills in tank building.

I've heard mixed reviews of Glasscages.com, if it makes a difference.

I have never dealt with Glasscages.com, just found their website when I was on the hunt for a rimless tank.

                  Sapphire is the SHIZZNIT!!!

but I think it will be some time before he releases his rimless glass tanks... last I saw they were still in the prototype stage but his acrylic is awesome! My custom wave tank was made by him and I love it! Soon to debut.....  8)

Oh, but I love ADA as well and it's got the "Bling" effect to it.

If I had to choose between the two it would be a tough choice and I would have to really compare which better suits my needs/wants for said set up.

Who told you they dont last?  They come with a 5 year warranty and I have a buddy that has a tank running for almost 8 years....no problems.  That being said, I also had kyle from Sapphire Aquatics custom make me something and the quality is top notch.   I also like the ADA stuff.  Its super bling, super clean, and super thin glass.  The silicone is almost perfect.  I like everything about it except the price.

I would steer clear from glasscages.com.  They have some good reviews but the bad reviews are enough for me to not risk it.  ADG is in Houston.  Sapphire Aquatics is in Houston.  Get something local so you can see what youre getting before you pay!

                        Re: ADA/ADG TANK...

I have heard the same about glasscages.   They are  built pretty rough or look like they get in a hurry building them.

I have a ADG 140 that looks perfect.   They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for.   As for  them lasting. I would think they last as long as any other tank out there. Its not like they are using substandard or cheap materials.

I would say buy local as well.  This supports the local guys and like screename said, you get to see it right then before you drop the cash.

I wonder how much a ADG 100 or so would cost.
Maybe I'll try to look up their number and give them a call.

                            ADGshop.com

Or you can go to a retailer like city pets which carries ADA products.

                              Alexa

They are all sold using the front glass length in centimeters.
The tanks I have seen start from about 45 and go up to 120cm

So from about 18" to about 48"
Ranging from 10g to about 85 gallon.

I think they have a bigger tank than an 85 in their conference room at ADG but you would need to ask someone like Mzungu who would prolly know better :)

                              I love their tanks
