There are only two variants, one from the lake and one from the river. The river variants are typically more common and sold in smaller sizes. Lake variants come in larger, more expensive, lighter tan skin tone and more profound spots on the body. Where as the river would have smaller more opaque spots and a brownish toned body.

yes i know about the two variants, I have one of each. I had just forgotten which was which. Thanks J-WS6 for clearing that up. They both get very large, 180 or larger would be a good home. I have both of mind in an 300 and they are starting to scare me with there size.

Unfortunately, that's the only issue with these guys. I just swap mine out for a smaller one every 6-9 months or so.

yea i here that but i dont mind. the 300 can always use the cleaning with 8 large fronts, They do very well keeping the bottom clean.
