bump for a nice cat. Not sure if everyone knows this but correct me if I am wrong.
Most Giraffe Cats will constantly sift throught the media (sand)(not sure about rock) and keep it well turned over. The advantage to this is your sand doesnt build up nitrates or ammonia. They will also keep the detrius down to a managable level in well stocked tanks. Since I added mine, my tanks have never been cleaner and I never have to vacumn the sand ....just water changes only..
Most people think that having giraffes create a larger bio load for you system but in fact I have been told that they help to reduce it.
Again correct me if I am wrong
There is no "normal" life, it's just life so get on with it.
wow. Thats less than what they cost from the LFS when they are small. Man, if I only had the room and more tanks I would take this in a second. Just trying to get down to a few tanks that I can manage.

Yep its a nice cat but nobody is buying dookie right now. I would try the other avenues and make sure people know the benifit of having a giraffe. Most people think they will create a larger bioload so they steer clear vs actually reducing the bioload.
IMO
