I bought three 4" red severums tonight for my 75 gallon tank and was looking to get more about the same size. Anybody know where I can get some more?

Re: WTB: Red/Green/Gold severums
Red severums are available at Inwood aquarium near 290 and Antoine, the last time I heard.. this is a south American fish that is VERY peaceful, so make sure that your other fish in there there are peaceful too. If not they will be very shy and skittish and will not show often their beautiful colors :)

Re: WTB: Red/Green/Gold severums
hey, newb,
i have kept and breed severums for 4 years, they can handle tankmates like chocolates, firemouths, jack dempseys, and green terrors no prob, a 55g would be a minimum, as they can and will grow to well over 9"tl. they should not be kept with community fish like tetras, cause they will eat any fish small enough to fit in their mouth. also they should not be kept with community cichlids such as angels discus, or smaller acara, they are not what i would consider peaceful at all. semi aggressive maybe, they have the temperment of a jack dempsey. males of the same variant are very intolerant of eachother, ie, a 2x male green seves or 2 male golds sevs or wutever, will fight constantly, my old 7" male red severum, used to fight with my 7" jd, and they were nearly even! they are not a timid cichlid, my rotkiels used to eat pellets from my fingertips, they are a very interactive fish. they wont make good tankmates with anything more aggro than a gt. anything more aggressive then that will beatup on them. also they enjoy veggies, i used to feed my pair romain lettuce, zuchini, cucumber, green peas, cantalope, grapes, and pineapple, they love fruits and veggies, and will readilly excepet them, it may take a few tryes, but once they eat them, they dont stop, these foods bring out beautiful colors aswell.
heres a pic of my red sev about to rumble with my jack dempsey in my 75g.FRENCH FRY!!!

Re: WTB: Red/Green/Gold severums
I have 3 gold severum (3") that I am planning on keeping in a soft/acid planted 40g tall with 3 Red Devils.
Are Red Devils too aggressive for the severums ?
What would be a good CAK(s) to join them ?'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Re: WTB: Red/Green/Gold severums
red devils are way to aggro for sevs, and they are way to aggro to keep three of them in anything less than a 200g. they will kill eachother in a matter of months. in a 40g. good plecos for sevies, would include all of the ancistrus, all panaques, all pekoltia, and just about any other pleco. they dont bother plecos at all, i had L200, L128, LDA33, LDA22, L181, L182, L240, L201, l014, L015, LDA01 and a gibbeceps, in with my severum pairs, and no problens at all. also severums will eat your plants, they like to dig, and will eat just about any aquatic plant, mine even destroyed my java ferns, they will try anything.FRENCH FRY!!!
