So today at work I get a call at work from the office in my apartments telling me that there had been a break in in my apt, soI rush home to find police in my now ransacked home.  Appearantly someone broke into and vandalized my apartment, nothing was stolen but my tv was spray painted, a lot of my pictures had been tagged with spraypaint, they put holes in my walls, but what's worse if what they did to my tanks.  I had a 125 glass south and central american cichlid setup in my bedroom and a 110 custom acrylic African cichlid setup in my living room.  The m&%#!r f&%@#!s busted the glass in my 125 (luckily it only drained about 3/4 of the way and my fish were still alive) and you can tell that they tried to bust the acrylic one because of the large scuff marks (looks like they hit it with a bat or a golf club) and when it wouldn't crack they spraypainted it almost completely and busted up my filters.  but the best part was when I talked the the apartment manager she says, "Oh, well, we've had a string of these in the last couple of weeks."  So now I'm in desperate need of some new tanks.  I had a 55 in storage so I've got that set up and my poor south americans are cramped as can be.  If anyone has some extra larger tanks that they would be willing to give away or sell for really cheap then I would be forever grateful to you.

I wish I could get out there, I was looking at that one when if first posted.  I was hoping to find one closer into town since I'll have to rent a truck to go get it.

Sorry to hear about what happened. :(  Do you have renter's insurance? If you do then you can file a claim for your tanks (and everything else), vandalizm would be covered. I had this conversation not too long ago with my insurance company.
