    WTB-Live foods

    Hi, I am jaring my bettas and am looking for some live foods. Mealworms, waxworms, etc. If you have anything like this and are wanting to sell them, please PM me with your asking price.

    fishboyt, what does it mean to "jar" your betta's? Are you literally placing them into jars to transport or something?

      Yes, I'm putting them into jars for "Conditionig". Here is a link on what I'm doing: http://www.ibcbettas.org/smp/species/imbellis.html Scroll down to the second Reproduction at the bottom of the page and it will tell you all about it.

        Betta fry are normally raised in a tank.
        At about 14 weeks +/-, the young males go through puberty and start mock fights / nipping fins.
        So if you want pretty fins you have to seperate all the aggressive young males by placing them in their own individual "Jar"
        In my case I use 1/3 galon beanny baby boxes.  4" x 4" x 8"tall
        The females can generally be left in the tank unless you have a nasty one.

        He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

            Yes, The males are realy pretty when they are around a female. By the way, whats a "Dagon"?

              Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos stories, the first of Lovecraft's stories to introduce a Cthulhu Mythos element — the sea deity Dagon itself

              I just ordered a pound of blackworms contact me if you would like to try them.  I have used them before and I have plenty of worm keepers.   :emtthumbs:

                Actually, it's a mythical greek god of some sort...not too sure myself, I looked it up once, but it sounded like the usual hokey pokey greek god stuff.... :?

                  I thought the lettering above your avatar used to say "I am as close to a DRAGON as you can get" and "DRAGON". Am I wrong?  :?

                      The amount of posts, that one has, here on the box, determines what kind of user/member you are, according to the administration of the box. If you go to the link above, called RANKS, you can see the break down of how many post's one makes determines their current "rank" on this website. It's kind of silly to me, but harmless fun I suppose.

                            Petco... has waxworms,small mill worms in the fridge in the aquarium area.  Please dont ask how I know :)
