Re: WTB: heater rated 500W for higher
How about if you get a mobil home water heater and a circulating pump ?
You could do a swimming pool with that.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

The new azoo titanium electronic heaters are rated....."300 watt 11-1/2" up to 80 gallons."
I have a 300w heater on my 75g.
I know I can use a smaller heater, but then it would take longer to warm up the temp. Big heater can do the job faster, which means more stable water conditions.
I'm guess you don't have a 500w heater for sale?I ate my fish that died.

Re: WTB: heater rated 500W
Heat transfer out of the tank to the room depends on surface area & temperature difference.

Rather have a slow warming heater then a fast cooking one.
the one in your sump? I thought I saw two in there some time back.I ate my fish that died.

Re: WTB: heater rated 500W
unless youre place is freezeing, which might be the case, cuz some people dont want to run the heater, and rack up extra watts for the light bill
i dont have heaters on my tanks, im barefoot and in shorts most of the time
dont really worry about the light bill, rather like it being comfortable and not freezing in my own home
