As most of you know I work at a pet store. I had someone bring in a very large flower horn and would like to find him a new home. I could trade him for credit but as I didnt pay for him I would like to just give him to someone willing to come get him. he is about 7 in long. Man said he was a jack dempsey but Eartheater has let me know he is a flower horn. NO LONGER MINE! HE IS AT BLUE REEF IN HUMBLE.

Re: Jack Dempsey free to good tank-now w/ pics
o.k 8O guy said jd so I didnt bother checking, just took his word for it. Thanks for letting me know I will change the title.
he is in a 29g tank for now but needs more room but this is all I had ready for him to go into, thought the 55 gold fish tank might become empty if I put him in it.

no he is here at my house in one of the 29g I bought from you. We dont keep fish this big at the store but the man had it there in a bucket so I told him I could find it a good home.

that is why the man said he had to get rid of him, and also said he was making a mess of this tank.
If someone doesnt clam him by Tuesday or atleast make arrangements to get him I will need to take him to the Blue Reef
if she can take him. By the way what would he go for at a lfs.

Re: Large flower horn free to good tank-now w/ pics
being somewhat low grade, he might fetch $5-10 maybe.
btw newb, these fish at his size are not good mixers with anything, he will kill your severums in a day, and the oscars aswell.
a male flower horn his size, should be with fish like dovii, red devil, jags, and maybe very large vieja species, in a minimum of a 200g tank. they are VERY VERY agressive.
or ideally in a tank all their own.FRENCH FRY!!!

Re: Large flower horn free to good tank-now w/ pics
he will need atleast a 75g. my friend james had a 8" male red dragon flower horn in a 29g, and he got really pissed, and ended up slamming into the glass HARD, and cracked the glass, thats why they are known as tankbusters. also they become much much more aggro when kept in small tanks. they become like dogs when kept in 75g+ aquaruiums by themselves, they are true wet pets. but when kept in crampt confined tanks, ie; less than 55g, they become arm eating monstersdont ask how i know
FRENCH FRY!!!

newb are you going to have a big enough tank for him and is it ready for fish yet? I dont want anything to happen to him. So I am just making sure he will go to a tank(home) that is going to take good care of him otherwise I will put him in my 40 till I get my 100.
