WTB: MOBA, MPIMBWE, AND ZAIRE BLUE'S

I HAVE STARTED A FRONTOSA COLONY, BUT I ONLY HAVE BURUNDI'S.  WHILE THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL FISH, I AM NOW INTERESTED IN THE MOBA, MPIMBWE, AND ZAIRE BLUE'S.  I HAVE TRIED ON-LINE SHOPPING, DRIVING ALL OVER HOUSTON, CONROE, BEAUMONT AND PASADENA LOOKING FOR THEM....

DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY THESE FISH?  I NEED THEM TO BE ABOUT AN INCH AND A HALF TO TWO INCHES.  ALSO, I'M A STRUGGLING MUSICIAN, SO THE FUNDS ARE KINDA LIMITED.

Take your time and learn all about Fronts before you spend your money on more fronts.

as far as fronts, I havent seen any zaires or mpimbwe in any store in town.
There are some blue zambia at Ultimate fish when I was up there last week. but I bet they cost a fortune.

those zambians are 4-5", and cost $80 a piece!  plus they all got into a big fight, and destroyed one anothers fins, they they are growing back, but are no longer $80 fish imo, and imo they never were

I agree with DELOCK,  and before you go and spend a bunch of money on more Frontosa first you need to consider TANK SPACE.  Frontosa will grow very large.  If you do not have at least a 125 to 150 gal. tank, you will find yourself in a bind soon.  Frontosa can grow to 16".  If you have Burundi, Moba and Mpimbwe, you should not have them in the same tank, one day they will be breeding age.  There are a lot of things to consider before just running down to your LFS and buying fish.  Fishkeeping is and should be a long term commitment.  As always this is just M/O

Regarding tank size...6 footer is minimum. Smaller tanks would be ok for some time (cause they grow slow) but maxed out they are going to need some room. Like an 8 or 10.

There are many reasons for having Frontosa in large tanks.  One being if you keep them in a small tank it will stunt there growth.  Unless you have extensive Frontosa raising and breeding experence it might be advisible to reframe from giving advice to newbies.  M/O

With regards to Frontosa's,  I would consider any comments from Mike144 .... as words of experience, and listen to the man.....just my humble opinion.
