Re: Helpppp
Dude, i used to breed red devils and midas cichlids, and anything less than a 6ft tank for a single adult pair is gunna end badly.
males reach 15" and female 12"
an eggcrate divider is a must, when the female prepares a spawning location, remove the eggcrate, and let them get started. a 55g isnt big enough for a full grown male to even turn around in comforatbly, they need atleast a 75g for a SINGLE INDIVIUAL.but if you want to breed a minimum of a 6' 125g is a must.
they will get along ok in a 75g for a little while, but when they hit the 10" mark your pretty much hosed without a 6'er.
also, you only want more than one female when you are trying to establishg a pair, when a pair is formed, get the other females out quick! or the are dead.
i am giving you info from personal first hand experience. these fish are PHYCHO!.
and need lots o space.
