do you mean that is not enough filtration or fish. not sure what size of colony would work best in this tank.

The 2229 is real good, but that 2217 needs to be upgraded with more flow. A 2250, 2260, or 2262 is much better. I would also consider Rena XP3,XP4, or Fluval FX5.

Also, make sure you read closely the 2229 manual. It has a minimum and maximum height needed to make the canister work properly.

since I am buying it used I dont think it will come with the manual. Is there a site that has that info posted. or an online copy of the manual would work as well.

well great, I just sold a Rena XP3 cause I thought the 2217 was a better filter! oh well

also guys, seems alot of people are having probs with leaking o rings on their eheims... make sure to wet the rubber rings before assembling the 2 halves... if the rubber is dry, it wont squeegy/squirm into a water tight seal... it could roll, twist, or pinch
