except the temporary importation of motorcycles with displacements over 125 cc. Darn Viet red tape! Well glad to hear all is well. I hope you are enjoying your Asian Arowana, please don't put any puffers in with them. The goats say hi.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View PostI am overseas and everything is legal here. While I'm not reef ready, I am salt ernate lifestyle curious...

To increase the puffer's chances of getting a snack, take a piece of PVC pipe and place one end next to the puffers mouth. Drop the seafood in the top end and let it drift down to him. Saw that in a ray feeding video this week. Seemed to work well.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View PostThose things get enough crap eating all the seafood I toss into the tank for the puffer.
They steal his shrimp, clams, mussels, crayfish, snails, scallops, etc. I have to feed a ton more daily cause they keep snatching his food. While I'm not reef ready, I am salt ernate lifestyle curious...

Hmmm. Get a cheap plastic mixing bowl in a solid color. Cut a hole in the middle and attach to the end of the pipe. Put it kinda over the puffer without squishing it. If the trophs can't see the food they will be less likely to be trying to snatch it.While I'm not reef ready, I am salt ernate lifestyle curious...

Is he still good for grabs?
I miss my wild caught tilapia, he was originally caught as feed for my strange crawfish. He was 1cm when I first laid eyes, then grew super big and and started biting me. Then he died from stress during the time I spent trying to find out what kind of fish he was.

that's probably the worst idea I've ever heard... that might for target feeding corals or the like but this MBU is pushing 10" and would be frightened by something like that.Originally posted by Bedlamer View PostHmmm. I've been hand feeding which helps and I toss more food into the tank to distract the fish while he tries to eat. I have to feed a ton of shrimp to the tank but he gets his.700g Mini-Monster tank

Well you won't know for sure until you try it. You are just dismissing it out of hand. Do what you think is best. I've always heard puffers are fairly bright for fish--I don't think it would take that long to get him to associate the contraption with food. I'm not saying pin him to the substrate--just put it over his front end a bit to fend the trophs off.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View Postthat's probably the worst idea I've ever heard... that might for target feeding corals or the like but this MBU is pushing 10" and would be frightened by something like that. While I'm not reef ready, I am salt ernate lifestyle curious...
