After messing with this setup for half an hour yesterday at the end of an 8 hour fish day, my hubby decided that the best place for this was in the trash. It bothered me since I think it could be a simple fix (but I don't know how) so I rescued it! What he gave up on & what I don't have the knowledge to fix is yours for the taking. I do have some wants listed on the site, so if you have anything I need I'll be glad to bring it with me.
It doesn't appear to be a janky setup. It was in the canopy of the 180g. When we plug it in, one of the lights comes on, the other attempts to come on then both go off (my feeling is that one of the bulbs is bad). Once he started turning the lights to make sure they were getting a good connection, he couldn't get them to lock in anymore & wasn't willing to continue the battle. In his frustration, we walked them to the trash, lol.
According to my research, the bulbs are Aquasun 7 VHO-1, 72" long & 160w. The ballast is an IceCap Model 430-008. The end caps are attached to acrylic brackets but you can easily remove them if you like. Might just be used for spare parts, might change a bulb and have a new light setup. No idea but I didn't want the garbage man to take them.
