If anyone wants my used Eco-Complete substrate, come an get it. I'm about to toss it.
The good: Eco-Complete does not break down like many other planted substrates so this is not mud. This is definitely viable for planted tanks.
The bad: It is used! It has Malaysian trumpet snails, both alive and dead shells. Of course, it has roots from the plants I just pulled up. And there's also some algae on it (you can kill it with hydrogen peroxide if you want).
If you want it, you have to get it right away as I'm about to start pulling it out of the tank and will throw it away. I love the stuff, but I'm completely redoing this tank and decided this was a good time to replace the substrate in my effort to eradicate the snails.
I decided to give this away for free in case anyone wants to use it. You must bring your own containers. There's probably about 7-8 bags of substrate in the tank so we're talking about 120-140 pounds or so. Since I'm giving it away for free, I will give away partials.
