  • Cancer Patient Needs Aquarium (Spring/The Woodlands)

    Hello everyone!

A dear friend of mine has been working hard to find me an aquarium for my bedroom, that we can set up next to my hospital bed. I have been undergoing treatment at MD Anderson for stage 4 breast canSer (the S is for SURVIVOR!!) since Feb of last year. I'm only 37 years old, and it has COMPLETELY changed my life. EVERY DAY I have HORRENDOUS panic attacks, and I am in INCREDIBLE pain, ALL THE TIME, due to the canSer having moved from the breast to my bones. (hips, pelvis, spine, ribs, skull, neck, jaw, and shoulders.)

AMAZINGLY enough, the therapy is WORKING!! (after a year of therapies that didn't work) We are all SO excited, and remain hopeful!!

Please read my friends add that he posted on Craig's list last week, If you can help out, please contact me!

You can't know how much I appreciate ANY help ANY of you can give me. I am SOOOO excited at the thought of having an aquarium in by life again.

There is a reason that MD Anderson has aquariums EVERYWHERE you go. They are VITAL as part of the healing process. Thank you for your help!!!!

    All my best,
    Kristin

    Hello!

I am trying to locate a 55 gallon Aquarium (tank, hood and stand at the very LEAST) for a stage 4 cancer patient.

She has been a keeper of fish all her life, and now finds herself without a tank and unfortunately at a time when she REALLY needs one for meditation and relaxation. Sleep has been almost impossible due to panic attacks and drug reactions, her doctors have recommended the tank for battling stress and helping her sleep. We need to find a tank that is VERY inexpensive, if not even DONATED. She is on disability, not yet eligible for Medicare and NO insurance. So you can imagine her money situation is NOT good. A donated set up would be AMAZING and preferred!!

All offers will be appreciatively considered, but please make sure of the following:

No cracks or leaks. The tank MUST hold water and not be scratched or dinged up. It would be a DISASTER if the tank started to leak after it was filled. She is in INCREDIBLE pain, as the cancer has moved to every one of her bones (practically). There would be NO WAY she could deal with a leaking tank.

Please make sure it has a secure lid, light, filter, tank and stand. Anything else is a HUGE plus!

Please text her pictures and other info to 832-353-0619 Her name is Kristin. You can also email her at the address above.

Thanks SO much and blessings to you!! Thank you for even CONSIDERING helping out!!
