Some sort of media? Not much, but free!

This media was in a canister I bought, and I'm not going to use it. No clue what it is. It's spherical and seems like media that would do best submerged. There's not much of it (a few oz?), but free! Rohto eye drops and Jackson for size reference.

Those look like biopellets to me, not sure how useful they'll be in a freshwater canister
