My son and I have had a 14gallon biocube saltwater tank of several years, but he has gotten too busy with his other hobbies and middle school to properly take care of it. So we are looking for a good home for it. The tank has a raging case of hair algae all over the live rock. One fish left, a yasha goby, some hermits, mushrooms, snails.
I tried listing the entire setup on Craigslist for $150, which seemed like a great deal to me, but I have gotten nothing but people giving me a runaround. Super huge waste of my time.
So we are ready to give this all away to a good home. The fish is still my sons pet, so we ask the following - do not ask to take it if you are not an established hobbyist with another tank that can take the fish, or the ability to totally clean up and rehab the tank and give the fish a good home. We ask that you send a photo of the goby in his new home. The live rock is well established, and full of mini serpent stars and bristle worms and other goodies. We would like someone who has the skill and experience to carefully break the whole thing down and take it away, and clean and rehabilitate it.
References from the moderators here would be a bonus. If you are so moved by the very large donation of this equipment to your hobby, a donation to a wildlife fund or the local zoo would be nice. Or maybe you would like to give this setup to a nice deserving boy or girl with the time and interest, as long as you supervise. I am throwing in all the gear - timer, heater, water jugs, etc. etc. I live inside the loop.
Happy holidays
