  • Free 9 Jewel Cichlids!!!!!

    I was trying to sell these but I will give them away for FREE!!!!!!! I have 9 jewel cichlids for free. They are 2 inches or so , a few a little smaller. There is one breeding pair who has made many babies. These are all young fish. They are maybe 6 months old. Come and get them. I live in Alvin. PM me for the address. You can pick them up tomorrow.

    I wish I had the tank space. Jewel is very beautiful when mature. I used to have 1 male looking stunning red with pearl all over his body.

      The only problem with jewels is that they tend to be aggressive so you have to be careful in choosing tankmates.

        Yes they are. The African cichlid can handle them.

          I'll take them! I just finished redoing the stand on an empty tank, so they can have it all to them selves.

                  I didn't think you could put a mated pair with other species. I like having my one on it's own. I wanted a jewel for many years but read such awful things about them. I'm glad I decided to give it a try since my lone one is so easy going and gentle. I call it a she and her name is Lily.

                    you can place them with other africans. i usually only had one at a time. like many cichlid species, they do get aggressive when breeding since they guard their eggs/fry for a bit.

                    Ken's looked nice when I saw them this weekend. if i had a spare tank, i would have taken them off his hands. had multiple pairs breeding and a ton of fry.
