PhishPhreek's article says mix 1 oz of sodium thiosulfate with 8 oz of water.
When talking about a solid, we mean by weight, right? I don't have a scale, how much is 1 oz in weight?

It also says add 1 drop of solution to treat 1 gal of water. Let's say I need to do 75 gal, how much is 75 drops in volume?

For a 75 gallon you would need 3.75 ml. 1tsp = 5ml

Do you know how much is 1 oz of sodium thiosulfate? What is the equivalent in teaspoon ?

I re-read PhishPhreek's article and it does say 1oz/ TBS .

I mixed 1 TBS with 8oz of water and some of the powder dissolved right away, some of it formed a small sheet of solid crystal which took a little of mixing to dissolve. It also put out some heat. Is it supposed to do that?

I used RO/ DI water and I mixed it in a plastic bottle, I felt the bottle getting rather warm but of course it cooled down in a couple of minutes.

Any how, I tried it on my 72G Malawi tank, those are the toughest of my fish. I'll see how it goes.

So far so good. They are active and happy.

btw, I used 1 1/2 dose of the sodium thiosulfate mix and 1/2 dose of Amquel.
I used to use 2 doses of Amquel or Prime before.
