10 for $15 is a good price. I dont suppose you saw how many others he had? It'll be easier to get them from there.

I didn't count but it looked like he had about 40-50 left in 2 tanks.

I bought 50 at that Uulimited fish and PEts.  He gave me 50 for $1 dollar each, but they all died in like 2 weeks.  I also bout some at Fish Gallery and none of their fish died.  I'm not advertising for them, but their cardinals seems to be hardier.  The GulfCoastDiscus guy can order some for you if you order a lot for $1 dollar each to.

                Re: Cardinal Group Buy Anyone?

Most of those I bought from Danny died...when I bought them ( lookin' to save a buck) I thought they might not make it because they were so small and wouldn't handle the stress of movement and water change (though I drip acclimated them for 2 hours).

Fish Gallery are larger specimens and priced higher too, of course, but I was wondering if they would more likely last....sounds like from supaflyz they will...

                  Re: Cardinal Group Buy Anyone?

yes, 5 out of 10 tetra I bought from Unlimited died within a week. Supaflyz, how much you bought each at FG? When did you buy it, and you sure had 0 fatality percentage?

Just saw the May promotion on other thread from FG for 50% off livestock, did any one know whether this promotion is appliable to cardinal tetra?

                    Re: Cardinal Group Buy Anyone?

I spoke to Don earlier this week and their Cardinal supply is down...the few they had are NFS because of some disease in tank. Don said they were expecting a new shipment sometime in next couple weeks. He says their supplier provides a very hardy stock and they rarely lose any.

                      Re: Cardinal Group Buy Anyone?

Yes Im sure 0 percentage died because I left them in a seperate tank.  I didnt see any floating or any at the bottom of the tank.  Its pretty hard to count all 50 when they move so fast and in a school.  The ones I bought that all died were also $1 each since I bought 50 of them.  They seem pretty healthy and eating well when I first put them in.  Then by the span of 2 weeks they died one by one.  It has some weird white markings on their head and some on the stomach.  Possiby ich?  I think you can also get a fair price at Fish Gallery if you buy alot, but not for $1 each though.

I have always admired FG's Cardinal stock and know their pricing well .....2.99 each or 10 for $25.00.
Maybe a better price at FG can be had if you buy 50+...worth asking.

the lfs in corpus christi i visit ordered my cardinals for $1.70/each and the only fatality i had was due to my betta attacking him.  otherwise they are perfectly healthy...

I know this is a month or so old post, but I just now read it and wanted to add my 2cents.  Xtreme fish sells their cardnial tetras for 1.39.  I got 22 for my 55 gal about 2 months back,  angel fish ate most of them tho...now I have just one left (guess he was a better hide and seek player than the other 21)  and the angel fish is gone from that tank.  Anyway...1.39 is what I pay and none died from anything other than being eaten.

Thank you Lucy for the info.  I probably get some from there.  I hate them angelfish to they ate like 15 of mine already.  I have to sell them or give them away and buy more cardinal tetras.
