NLS = New Life Spectrum, basically a high grade food for tropical fish, it comes in different sizes and different formulas for different fish....it's good stuff.

I use it at my place as well as other fine fish foods.

There are three brands that one might say are a grade above the rest....Dianichi, NLS, and Hakari ....

It depnds on what kind of fish you keep, all of the above brand names make a good food product for fish, but I am not an expert, I suggest you ask around for more opinions.

I believe a steady diet of fresh frozen mysis shrimp or blood worms, in conjuntion with pellet foods will keep most tropical fish well fed and healthy.  Be sure to keep on hand a good flake food too for "snacks" ....  :)

I'm gonna pick up some Spirulina flakes today, and maybe get some live food if I can find it.  

My Paratilapias are getting so big, Spyke says they're porkers because they've doubled in width over the weekend.  I say it's just a growth spurt- like any good mother would

Spirulina flake is a very good food that just about any fish will gladly gooble up....ummmm.....good stuff.... :)

Only Hikari foods I would even bother with with is the frozens.

Dainichi and NLS is the staple for my fish regardless of what fish.

So the price difference between the group buy and HAW is $4? Doesn't seem worth the effort. I rather just drive on down to Dan's and get it there. Plus we support our LFS, so we can get a good deal on some fish later. But, hey I understand in this kind of economy you gotta save money where you can.

no I think you are mistaken....there's a 20% discount if the group buy reaches $300 or more (it seems like it at the moment) and for pple that order more than one items it will sure save alot!

Yeah in my speed reading I missed the whole 20% off. That makes a big difference. Any idea how much shipping gonna run?
