yes i too unfortunately have to work saturday, i would take off but i have used all my vacation time on two trips this year yet to come, and of course St.Patricks day. :wink:  but for those of u who have never seen ADG you need to go. its super cool.

It is a shame that the basis for GHAC activities seems to be locked in on any day but Sunday; meetings are predicated on having a late party night, and tours are probably based on businesses that aren't open on Sunday.
Leaves a lot of us cut out of GHAC activities, working on Friday nights and Saturdays.

Anyways, a lot of the Houston clubs have their events on Sundays, and we definitely wouldn't want to schedule on the same day as another event (for example, the TAKO meeting this Sunday).

It's impossible to schedule something that everyone can make. But we have tried other days for the meeting, and have also had a couple of polls where everyone could vote for their preferred meeting day. In addition, we have talked about having other "unofficial" meetings to cater to those that would prefer meeting more than once a month, and on days other than Friday.

This is all true...except for the tour which I had to miss due to a family "crisis", every activity since the Gallery has been scheduled for other days. Meetings were voted for as Sunday being too hard to stay late and party, so that's a lock. "Talking" about other days leaves those who want to be involved but work on Friday and Saturday effectively locked out of GHAC.
I only go to GHAC meetings, so I guess those who belong to other more inclusive clubs would have to choose between GHAC and the other club's meetings.
As things are now, I have no choice, I can't participate in GHAC any longer. I work Friday and Saturday.
Gee...I wonder why other groups have Sunday meetings?
I think that it's not only myself who works on those days...just me, and no big loss to the GHAC. I'm pretty sure other people are limited to Sundays, so that limits meeting attendence to a specific group.
Maybe start the partying on Saturday night and finish on Sunday with the meeting?

How about this. Im going to be going to a restaurant or similar next sunday (20th) around 12-6pm. Anybody else want to meet me there and talk crap for a couple of hours? It could be anywhere in Houston, i dont mind. Something where the food isnt too expensive, i'll have the kids and wife. Everyone welcome...If anyones interested, let me know or start a post about it.

GHAC cannot be everything to everyone and GHAC is not locked on anyday but Sunday for activities.  

Even though meetings will generally be on Fridays, we have had one meeting and one event on a Sunday.
