Thanks. Last time I left the cave in with the parents, only 10 fry made it to today. They are about 1.25". The rest probably got eaten by the parents.

The cave is great. It allows me to remove the whole clutch when they are free swimming. A must have to breed these guys.

nice set up, do you keep only a pair there?

Yes, once they pair up, they need their own love nest. The male will kill off other (regardless male or female) once he starts breeding.

I've seen, they can breed also on trio (one male 2 females) too

Great looking fish! The color is spectacular....you are making me wonder if I made the right decision to go to a planted tank with soft water fish.

Is that the cichlid stone cave and if so what size? I've been cave shopping for the future and can't figure out which size cave is the best...
