  • Need help with quick connects

I am replacing my green hose on my Eheim 2217. The hose is mucked up on the inside and I can't get it cleaned.

It was extremely difficult to remove the connectors off the old hose. Yes, I know to unscrew it. When I went to put the new hose on, it took absolute brute force. On one of the connections I could not get the screw on piece close enough to engage it and properly screw it on tight.

Is there some special trick to this?

Yes, boil the hose to make it soft.

A little lubrication helps also. Eheim usaully includes thier brand with new filters. It can be used on the gaskets and also to help with what you are trying to do. If not vaseline does the same thing.
