I am using a Rena Filstar xp2 on my 56 gallon tank. The tank is stocked with two Jack Dempseys. They spawned a few weeks ago but I moved the fry to their own tank this weekend. Before the fry hatched the ammonia level and nitrates were all zero. The ammonia level has been holding steady at 0.25ppm since the fry hatched... I am doing 25% to 50% water changes twice a week. The nitrate levels are all zeros. I have enough room in the canister to fit more Bio balls or more chemical media. What would you guys recommend?

If your water has chloramines they are split into ammonia which an established and cycled tank will take care.
There better not be any chloramines in my water. I paid alot of money for a water filter system for my house to clean all that junk out...
I am thinking it is not totally cycled :(
im also gonna put more bio media into my canister.
