  • Rena filstar xp3 dumping water from quick disconect

I recently purchased this canister filter used from a reputable person of our local community here in my area. Everything looks to be in great shape nothing was missing except the hoses which I replaced with hose from HD 5/8 ID which fits well. Anyone know if this messes with the pressure causing the quick disconnect to dump water randomly in spurts? Or has dealt with this for other reasons I'm unaware of?

i bought a used one too and get the same problem when i try to disconnect while the pump is going. i havent checked the orings because i just assumed it was a design flaw. if i shut the pump off before i DC then there are no leaks.
